In Iberdrola Energía, S.A. v. Republic of Guatemala, a case heard by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington D.C. (Case ICSID No. ARB/09/5 subject matter “Electricity distribution concession”) according to the Award of the Arbitration panel dated August 17, 2012, the Tribunal dismissed the multi-million U.S. dollars complaint filed by Spanish Iberdrola against Guatemala and ordered the Claimant to pay the Respondent the costs of the proceedings.
